Dell battery not detected windows 10

Upgraded my Aspire from Win 7 to Win After upgrade, no battery was detected by the laptop. I like Win 10, but if no solution is found, I'll neeed to roll back to Win 7 pretty soon, or I'll be stuck with a laptop that's permanently turned into a desktop.

I've tried the old standby unplugging everything, holding down power button, then rebooting, then adding back batterybut doesn't work.

Thanks, that cleared it up immediately and the battery was detected again. I had to do a quick hard-power reset because it was "plugged in, not charging" but now it's operating normally on battery.

Thank you so much! I refitted my ord battery and that was no longer detected. Tried lots of ideas I found online without success. I have recently purchased laptop battery for my old laptop. The company name is Fugen. I am having laptop of acer aspire g. My laptop is not dectecting battery. But still it is not showing it. So please help me out with it. Windows 10 update installed last week. Battery charging not working since then. Have been on Windows 10 for at least a year with no charging issues.

So the battery and AC adapter appear to be functioning OK. When I hover over the battery icon, "plugged in, not charging" message is displayed. I suspect that the Windows 10 update last week may have eliminated this device in Device Manager.

In reading thru other posts in this area, it appears that there should be a "Microsoft AC Adapter" device in the battery section of Device Manager. Am I missing this? How do I restore this AC Adapter device?

I have tried letting the PC run until the battery charge reduced to under 3 mins of power and it eventually powered down itself. I plugged in the charger and booted up successfully, but still not charging while in Windows and no AC adapter device in Device Manager. Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Still "plugged in, not charging".

The other day, I ran a few more trouble shooting suggestions I found in the Dell site, Support Library. The AC adapter successfully shows on the F2 bootup display. But on the F12 diagnostic bootup, the 65W AC adapter shows current flow, but there was also a comment saying "charger not detected".

All the current numbers are in the thousands, don't know if this is what is expected or not. All the voltage numbers are in the 10's or thousands. One suggestion was to download the "power mgmt" driver from Dell. No such driver or driver category exists. The Dell driver category descriptions do not indicate which category or driver includes "power mgmt", chargers, or batteries. So no help from this suggestion. The other suggestion was to run a specific trouble shoot.
